Award nominated Cardiff and South Wales Wedding Photographer 2018 highlights
Cardiff Family Portrait & wedding photographer
Time for my annual review, apologies this is coming mid January (already?!) but I am delighted to share with you my highlights from another exciting year. I love my job and one of my favourite things about being a photographer is that I get to travel around and meet all kinds of lovely people. I am well aware that I am privileged to join in on these special moments of your lives and I love having the opportunity to capture some of these moments and keep them for you. I love working with people of all kinds and telling your story. I love seeing how families interact together and my favourite family portraits are in a green space, a forest, or a beach, somewhere you love to go and just be yourselves. I work in a documentary style but coming from an art background I always like to create beautiful images from natural moments. On a wedding day one of my favourite parts is taking some time out with the bride and groom to go for a wander and let you catch up with each other. I give some guidance and suggestions for some of the shots but the rest is natural and real.
I was a finalist for Creative Photographer of the year 2018 at the Welsh Wedding Awards which was a lovely surprise. I attended the awards ceremony back in February and enjoyed a three course meal and meeting some other amazing photographers. I have been shortlisted in the same category again for the 2019 awards which is a great honour (as the nominations come from previous clients) and I look forward to attending that again soon. I have shot some gorgeous engagement shoots this year, Teresa & Shabba amongst the beautiful pink cherry blossoms has to be one of my favourites. You might see their faces a few times in this review as I was fortunate enough to be their wedding photographer for both their English wedding at the gorgeous Priston Mill, near Bath and their super colourful Hindu wedding in London. I shot less weddings than usual this year as we had baby #3 join us in August, right in prime wedding season! That gave me a lovely opportunity to brush up my newborn photography π
Thanks to all the couples that trusted me to photograph their weddings this year and all the lovely families I have met on our various shoots around Cardiff, Bristol and the Vale of Glamorgan. In between looking after three kids I have enjoyed learning new skills this year, brushing up old skills and feeling inspired to try new and creative things with my photography. I also ran a very popular wedding photography giveaway at the end of the year where one lucky couple won a full day wedding package with all the images on USB. It was very exciting by the end of the giveaway and over 1100 people voted for their favourite couple to win. I am excited about all that 2019 will bring. I still have a few dates remaining for weddings in 2019 and will be running some promotions in the near future, so keep your eyes peeled for that!
Thanks for reading this far, enjoy the highlights below and please share with anyone. Feel free to leave comments or tag people. If you are looking for a family or wedding photographer for 2019 or 2020 please get in touch, I’d love to hear from you. π
