Matt & Emina’s alternative Cardiff wedding party at Spit & Sawdust skate park

I am happy to be able to share this recent Cardiff wedding party from Matt & Emina’s celebration at Spit & Sawdust skate park. I love my job as I get to meet all kinds of different people and see how they express and celebrate their love in all kinds of different ways. Matt & Emina are not a traditional couple and everything about their wedding party reflected their style, from their choice of venue (this has to be my first wedding reception in a skate park) to the amazing decorations lovingly made by Emina & some of her talented friends (think pineapples, lots of pineapples!)

The weather was glorious that day and there was a lovely festival feel to their wedding party. Having got married earlier in the day at the City Hall register office with just some close family and friends, this was their time to have a big party with their wider friends and family. They had hired Ffwrnes a wood fired mobile pizza company to cater the event and the pizzas went down very well with the guests (I have to confess I even tried some and they were delicious!)

My brief for the evening was really to capture the party vibes and atmosphere and I really enjoyed the summery and relaxed feel of this wedding. I love a non traditional bride and love that Emina wore a red sparkly dress and both her & Matt were adorned with light up pineapples. The venue looked amazing with the sparkly DJ booth and glitter ball and lights filling the space. After some chilled out drinking, eating and catching up with friends we headed inside the venue for some thank yous and then the dancing began. This skate park warehouse had been magically transformed by the decorations and lights and DJs Nathan & Sophie rocked the dance floor with some epic tunes providing a really funky disco vibe as the guests headed to the dance floor.
