Family photo shoot at Cosmeston Lakes

I had the privilege of photographing this sweet Cardiff family portrait on New Year’s Eve. Some of the family live in New Zealand and were only back visiting for a short time over the holidays so it was the perfect opportunity to take some photographs together. I really enjoy this kind of photo shoot where we can go for a wander and explore the grounds and let the kids be kids without having to sit still and pose.

Some of my favourite shots from this session are the natural un-posed moments, the moments where the kids are feeding the ducks or the adults are enjoying watching the kids play. I hope that these kind of photographs will bring back memories of sweet times together. It is also important to me that you have fun on your shoot, if you are relaxed and happy it will show in the photographs and I think you can see that in this set of photographs.

We were fortunate with the weather and caught a gap in the rain, we had a fair few muddy puddles to navigate but the kids thought the mud was great fun for splashing in. I provide this kind of outdoor photo shoot all year round and there has been very few occasions where I have had to cancel due to bad weather. I always enjoy how you can see the seasons changing in the photographs.
