Cardiff Engagement Photography shoot

Did you know Christmas and New Year are the busiest season for proposals and engagements? Congratulations to all of you that have recently said ‘yes’ and are now excitedly wedding planning!

All of my full day wedding photography packages include a location engagement portrait session which is a great way for you to have a practise run in front of the camera and for us to get to know each other better.

Many of my couples feel a little nervous when it comes to having their photos taken – I get it, I am the same way – much prefer being behind the camera myself! An engagement shoot is a great way to put you at ease and many of my couples are surprised by how much they enjoyed their session and feel more at ease about how the photos will go on the wedding day.

I really enjoy these couples sessions as I get a chance to see what you are like with each other and what you like doing together. I want these photos to reflect you as a couple, so I offer a range of places to do the shoot – beach, forest, park, city, home, what suits you best?

This colourful shoot was taken on a beautiful Autumn day, just before the trees lost the last of their colour. Sophie & Karl love walking in nature and so I suggested Park Cefn Onn in North Cardiff as I knew there would be a range of beautiful trees for our backdrop. I was delighted to discover that Sophie & Karl are both into Swing Dancing and that is in fact how they initially met. I asked Sophie and Karl to show me some of their moves and I loved photographing them dancing away among the trees.

Despite feeling initially nervous they both commented on how much they had enjoyed the session by the end and I think it shows in the photographs! I love this set, such beautiful colours and sweet moments of connection between this gorgeous couple. Can’t wait for the wedding now – especially the dancing part!
