Eco Wedding South Wales
This beautiful eco wedding was held at Coed Hills in South Wales, a zero waste events space set over 180 acres of unspoilt ancient woodland. I first met Laura & Ollie at a Coed Hills wedding showcase event and we got on straight away. I love shooting at Coed, and I think it’s safe to say it has fast become one of my favourite wedding venues to shoot at.
Laura & Ollie run their own catering company Two Simmering Pans and are well used to running events. The organisation and detailed planning that had gone into this wedding was another level. They designed the menu and catered their own wedding breakfast (which was delicious!) with Ollie doing much of the food prep in the days before the wedding. Laura and her Mum got creative with the flowers arrangements and Laura had a very specific vision about her gold glitter and baby pink colour scheme and table layout.
Laura & her girls stayed over in the rustic cottage on site which was great for bridal prep photographs and many of the guests stayed over in the glamping pods on site which meant they could make a weekend of the festivities. Coed has it’s very own stone circle which was perfect for couples portraits and beautiful gardens for us to explore and have a few minutes away from the crowd. This was a very relaxed wedding in a cosy space complete with roaring log fire, and many guests commented on the homely nature of the venue.
Coed Hills has long been a leading centre for low impact living and brings this approach to hosting weddings. They even grow their own certified organic vegetables on site and this can be incorporated into the wedding feast. Their ethos is that weddings shouldn’t cost the earth and the vibe of the place is more like a chilled out festival than a wedding venue.
