Bridgend Family Portraits; Steph & family

I had such a lovely time photographing these sweet Bridgend family portraits with Steph, Anthony & their son Joshua at the beautiful Bryngarw Country Park. Bryngarw House is a popular wedding venue near Bridgend, South Wales. Set in beautiful grounds, this is a great place for a family portrait shoot. The sun even shone and it was lovely to see signs of spring (oh how we’ve missed you!) This was a special surprise from Steph for her new husband as it was his 30th birthday and she even brought along some superman props for Anthony & Joshua to have fun with.

Joshua did really well, he obviously loves being outside and exploring, it was a joy to see how happy he was and just to capture the sweet moments between him and his parents. I especially love some of the natural shots of Joshua with his Dad being swung high in the air and playing peek a boo behind a tree with his Mum. This is my ideal kind of family portrait, I find kids are so much happier outside, allowed to wander and explore rather than being forced to sit still and ‘pose’ for their photographs. When shooting this kind of family portrait I want to tell a story and capture a moment in time. Kids grow and change so fast, it is a joy to be able to capture these special moments for you to look back on in years to come.

Spring is the ideal time of year for family portraits as soon the trees will be in bloom and flowers and colour will appear again, making the perfect back drop (can you tell which my favourite season is?!)
